Red text that ask the question "Who Was The Oldest Person In The Bible?"

When it comes to us humans, we certainly don’t live as long as we used to. Let’s take a look at who the oldest person in the Bible was and how long he lived. In addition to providing you with who from the Bible owns the senior citizen title, we will list the five oldest people in the Bible as well.

The Oldest Person In The Bible – Methuselah (969 years old)

(Genesis 5:27) Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.

Methuselah wins the senior citizen title. The grandfather of Noah lived to the ripe old age of 969 years old. Yes, it’s hard to imagine anyone living this long. Apparently, for some of these gentlemen in Genesis the curse that entered the world through Adam and Eve’s sin had not yet taken hold enough to lessen their lifespan due to sickness and disease.

The Second Oldest Person In The Bible – Jared (962 years old)

(Genesis 5:20) Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.

Jared, the father of Enoch whom God took without dying (Genesis 5:24), lived to see many sunsets. Although Jared didn’t live as long as Methuselah, he came pretty close.

3. Noah (950)

(Genesis 9:29) Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.

The man who had a fairly large boat named after him saw many things over his long life. Included in this was what some would call a once in a lifetime flood.

4. Adam (930)

(Genesis 5:5) Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.

The first man Adam made the list at number four.

5. Seth (912)

(Genesis 5:8) Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.

Seth, the son of Adam, rounds at our list of the oldest people in the Bible. Living to the age of 912 is only good enough for number five on this list of elders.
