Angels are spirit beings that do not have physical bodies as we do, therefore they cannot die a physical death as humans experience. The Bible says for those who take part in the resurrection from the dead, they can no longer die because they will be like the angels. This Scripture let’s us know death does not occur for angels, at least not in a physical sense.
(Luke 20:35-36) But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God’s children, since they are children of the resurrection.
Some Angels Will Experience A Spiritual Death
Fallen angels, also know as demons, will however experience the second death. This second death will be an eternal separation from God, also known as spiritual death.
(Mathew 25:41) “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
(Revelation 20:14) Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death.
Angels are like humans in the sense that we are both eternal beings. There will never be a time that an angel will cease to exist. Unfortunately for the angels who rebelled against God, this existence will be an eternity in the lake of fire.
