There are ten separate occasions in the Bible where someone, and in one case many someones, were raised from the dead. We have listed them in the order that the event occurred in the Bible.
1. The Son Of Zarephath’s Widow
(1 Kings 17:22) The LORD heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived.
2. The Shunammite Women’s Son
(2 Kings 4:33-35) He went in, shut the door on the two of them and prayed to the LORD. Then he got on the bed and lay on the boy, mouth to mouth, eyes to eyes, hands to hands. As he stretched himself out on him, the boy’s body grew warm. Elisha turned away and walked back and forth in the room and then got on the bed and stretched out on him once more. The boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes.
3. A Dead Man Comes To Life When He Touches Elisha’s Bones
(2 Kings 13:20-21) Elisha died and was buried. Now Moabite raiders used to enter the country every spring. Once while some Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a band of raiders; so they threw the man’s body into Elisha’s tomb. When the body touched Elisha’s bones, the man came to life and stood up on his feet.
4. The Son Of Nain’s Widow Is Raised From The Dead By Jesus
(Luke 7:14-15) Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother.
5. Jairus’ Daughter Is Raised From The Dead By Jesus
(Luke 8:52-55) Meanwhile, all the people were wailing and mourning for her. “Stop wailing,” Jesus said. “She is not dead but asleep.” They laughed at him, knowing that she was dead. But he took her by the hand and said, “My child, get up!” Her spirit returned, and at once she stood up. Then Jesus told them to give her something to eat.
6. Lazarus Is Raised From The Dead By Jesus
(John 11:43-44) When he had said this, Jesus called in a loud voice, “Lazarus, come out!” The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped with strips of linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes and let him go.”
7. The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ
(Mark 16:6) “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him.
8. Many Saints Come Out Of Their Tombs When Jesus Dies
(Mathew 27:50-53) And when Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.
9. Dorcas (Tabitha)
(Acts 9:40) Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
10. Eutychus
(Acts 20:9-12) Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!” Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted.
