There are four people named James in the Bible. They all appear in the New Testament. Who were these men? One was a father of a disciple, one was a brother of Jesus, and two were disciples of Jesus. They are all listed below with Scriptures provided.
James (The Father the Disciple Judas) not Judas Iscariot
(Acts 1:13) When they arrived, they went upstairs to the room where they were staying. Those present were Peter, John, James and Andrew; Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew; James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James.
James (The Brother of Jesus)
(Mark 6:3) Isn’t this the carpenter? Isn’t this Mary’s son and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” And they took offense at him.
(Galatians 1:19) I saw none of the other apostles–only James, the Lord’s brother.
James son of Alphaeus (A Disciple of Jesus)
