Is Bigfoot/Sasquatch in the Bible? This question definitely fits into the interesting Bible question category.
The Legend Of Bigfoot
The legend of Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, as the hairy ape-man is sometimes called, has been around for many years. Cultures throughout history have spoken of their version of this mythical giant existing. Numerous claims have been made by people who say they have seen the famous beast. In spite of these claims, there has never been any real hard evidence or proof that Bigfoot exist.
Where’s The Sasquatch Corpse?
To think of all the people who have spent countless hours hunting and exploring the same areas of these alleged sightings, and yet never to have come across a Bigfoot corpse, it makes it difficult to accept Sasquatch as being a reality. With the picture and video recording abilities of today’s world, one would think there would be some hard evidence by now. Many of the sightings and supposed findings turn out to be hoaxes and misidentification of known animals.
What Does The Bible Say About Bigfoot?
There is no mention of a creature such as Bigfoot in the Bible. Some have tried to use the following scriptures to support such a belief.
(Genesis 6:4) The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
(Genesis 25:25) The first to come out was red, and his whole body was like a hairy garment;so they named him Esau.
With both of these verses, it is quite a stretch to think the Bible was referring to the legendary Bigfoot. To say that the giants known as the Nephilim, or that the man named Esau because he is described as being hairy in the book of Genesis, is proof of Bigfoot is grasping at straws just a little.
While there are a small number of people who dedicate a lot of time and effort in attempting to locate this elusive overgrown monkey man, a person’s time would be better spent chasing after things that are known to be true in God’s Word.
