Sometimes it almost seems like Satan can read our minds. God knows what we are thinking before we even speak it (Psalm 139:4), but does the devil have the ability to read our minds and know our thoughts? Does he have the ability to place thoughts in our minds?
A Reasonable Assumption
In (Daniel 2), King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that was troubling him. He wanted the magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers to tell him what his dream was. He knew that if they could do this, then they would have the ability to interpret the dream as well. We go on to find out they could not tell him what his dream was. Magicians, enchanters, sorcerers and astrologers are from Satan’s world. They would have been able to tell Nebuchadnezzar what his dream was if Satan and his demons have access to our minds.
It is reasonable to assume that Satan does not have the ability to read our minds and know our thoughts. While it is mentioned numerous times in the Bible ( Mathew 9:4, Luke 2:8) that Jesus knew people’s thoughts, the Bible never says that Satan has been given the ability by God to read our minds. (I Kings 8:39) tells us that God alone knows the hearts of men.
Where Did That Thought Come From?
(John 13:2) During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him,
It does seem the devil has some sort of ability to place thoughts in our hearts and minds. Exactly how he is able to do this isn’t clear. Some think he is able to transmit a thought directly to our mind. It could be that he just manipulates circumstances so that we have an opportunity to choose the wrong path.
Satan Is Watching And Listening
Satan and his demons do have the ability to observe our actions and to hear what we say. From the very beginning when God created Adam and Eve, the devil has been observing humans. He has for thousands of years been watching and learning how and when to attack mankind. While he may not be able to read your mind, he can easily figure out your weaknesses through observation and listening. It’s not hard to imagine Satan being able to figure out what to tempt someone with when he can see and hear people giving clues as to what they are struggling with.
The demonic world knows what you read, listen too, and can hear the words you say. They are in an excellent position to hit you where you are the weakest. This is especially true if you are involved with things you shouldn’t be. Christians should work hard to obey (Philippians 4:8). Those who do this won’t have to worry about giving signals for the devil to see, hear, and tempt them with.
(Philippians 4:8) Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Is Satan really watching and listening everyone?
Good to hear from you Daniel. If your asking “How can Satan be listening to everyone at the same time?”, keep in mind a third of the angels were cast out of heaven along with Satan. These former angels are now demons that work for Satan to deceive humans in any way possible. Satan does not have to be able to watch and listen to everyone when he has many demons who can do the watching and listening for him.
