In (Isaiah 14:12-15) we are told how Satan was cast down to earth because he desired to make himself like God. The angelic being who was created by God allowed a desire to raise himself above God get the best of him. This cost him his position in heaven. So exactly how many angels fell from heaven along with Satan?
Satan Falls
(Isaiah 14:12-15) How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit.
A Third Of The Angels Cast Down Out Of Heaven
(Revelation 12:7-9) describes a war that broke out in heaven between Michael, Satan (the dragon), and the angels on both sides. Satan and his angels found themselves outmatched and were hurled down to the earth. The Bible does not give the exact number of angels that God created, but we do know that a third of however many angels there are were kicked out of heaven along with Satan.
(Revelation 12:4) says that a third of the stars were flung to the earth. Satan is referred to as a fallen star in (Revelation 9:1). It is for this reason most scholars believe that the third of the stars that were swept from the sky is referring to the number of angels that fell from heaven.
