What is the Most Common Phrase in the Bible?

It is the most common phrase, and some would say the most frequently repeated command in the Bible.

We used the King James Version to come up with the total number of times the phrase appears in the Scriptures. As you will see, there are numerous variations of the most often repeated phrase or command in the Scriptures. In one form or another, it can be found 117 times in the Bible.

Fear Not (62)

Be not afraid (28)

Fear ye not (8)

Fear thou not (4)

Thou shalt not be afraid (4)

Fear him not (2)

He shall not be afraid (2)

Neither be afraid (2)

Neither be ye afraid (1)

Be not thou afraid (1)

Ye shall not be afraid (1)

He will not be afraid (1)

Neither fear their fear, nor be afraid (1)

117 total

There is a misconception that this command can be found in the Bible 365 times, or 1 time for each day of the year. While this simply isn’t true, it can be found enough times to see God was trying to get his point across.

Fear and being afraid is not God’s will for the Christian experience!
